Dent May & His Magnificent Ukulele (that’s the name of the band, not an over-enthusiastic review. Although the singer’s ukemanship was none too shabby!) charmed the socks off the Electric Circus audience with their cheerful yet accomplished brand of beach pop. The Mississipians brought echoes of the Beach Boys, bubbly covers of Prince songs and an infectious sense of humour to the evening’s entertainment, and I think they’ve won more than a few fans here in Edinburgh.
