Roll up! Roll up! Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls… You’ll laugh! You’ll cry! Men will lust and women will swoon! I give you the astonishing, electrifying, stupefying… The automatic, instamatic, aristocratic… The electronic, technotronic, supersonic… The death-defying, awe-inspiring, amazing Cybraphon!

Electric Circus

Edinburgh

Found topped the bill at the Electric Circus with a typically sparkling set that’s beginning to sound like a greatest hits package. There’s an irresistible momentum about the band at the moment. Their bonkers but brilliant Cybraphon project has got everyone from the city’s arts set to the national broadsheets talking, and their infectious grooves have got feet shuffling across the city and further afield.

King Creosote, The Pictish Trail, Found, Player Piano

GRV, Edinburgh

We were treated to a triumphant post-Homegame hoe-down from a selection of Fence Collective luminaries at the GRV. Individually, the line-up was announced as Player Piano, Found, The Pictish Trail and King Creosote. However, they all spent so much time on stage with each other, as Fence traditions dictate, that it hardly seemed to matter! Great stuff.

Cabaret Voltaire

Edinburgh

Found‘s turn on the Edinburgh leg of The Mill was crisp, sparkling, refreshing and deliciously cool, unlike the beer on offer. The delighted audience were left baying for more. Again, unlike the beer.

Anstruther

Friday

So this is pretty much all I got from Homegame 2009, a selection from the Friday night’s entertainment. I left my camera switched on overnight on the Friday night and so the battery was flat by Saturday morning. The moral of the story is of course; if you’re daft enough to disable the auto-shutdown feature on your camera, remember to take your charger with you!

Oh well, better luck next year hopefully!

Limbo at The Voodoo Rooms

Edinburgh

Found topped the Limbo bill at the Voodoo Rooms. Their new album is avilable to download from their website, and the proceeds go to help fund a little trip they’ve got lined up to a certain South By Southwest festival later this year. Happy trails, guys!
