This venue hasn’t been open long, and this was my first visit. Whenever I thought about the name I started singing Thin Lizzy’s Whisky In The Jar in my head. Then I remembered they actually sing about Molly’s chamber, not Maggie’s. Anyway, Eagleowl, The Last Battle and The Oates Field gave us all a good night, despite not doing any Thin Lizzy covers.

Our friends at The Gentle Invasion arranged a very pleasant evening’s entertainment for us at The Wee Red last Friday. Any line-up that includes the enchanting Emily Scott and her elegantly savvy songs will be off to a good start. I was delighted to have finally caught up with Scott and co from The Last Battle, long overdue but worth the wait. To finish, Bart had imported The Late Call from Stockholm, who brought a welcome touch of Scandinavian sophistication to procedings.
