White Heath are just getting better and better each time I see them. Their unusual instrumental line-up; including a trombone providing the bass parts, percussion duties spread between the band and a middle-eastern-flavoured fiddle, seemed a little disjointed and uncertain when I first encountered this band a good few months – maybe getting on for a year – ago. However, since then they’ve become a remarkably distinctive and cohesive unit. There seems to be more identity to the songs, and a greater confidence in the performances, underpinning the exotic arrangements. I’m really quite excited about this lot. Well done lads, keep up the good work!
